I headed to Chester Street Bakery & Bar for a late breakfast today. Some I hear, call it brunch.
My brunch dates devoured two savoury tarts and I was overcome with food envy. But that being said, I don’t get to eat eggs very often so I went. Two poached eggs on toast. It’s so simple, but goddamn it’s so good. I ordered a side of their homemade relish which was my god delicious.
For $22.50, I had my breakfast plus a big fresh squeezed orange juice and a double espresso. Everything was pretty good, I’d go back for sure. My eggs were very well cooked, gooey in the middle and cooked just right.
The stand out thing, and something I need to try, are the cakes. My god. Glass cabinet after glass cabinet of cakes. Sponge. Ice cream. Other things that I can’t even explain but they look delicious.
For someone who doesn’t have a sweet tooth, this place has stolen my heart. And my stomach.
